Pool will be open for 5 minutes for those that want to practice Transition-picdoing a few laps wearing wetsuit on & getting it off. Bike rack will be set up in parking lot behind pool for demonstration & practice.
Getting in pool with wetsuit and practicing transition optional.
Clinic is free & open to the general public. Registration is not necessary but RSVP is appreciated

PRAIRIE DOG HALF MARATHON Sunday April 10, 2016

Course Marshal/Water Station at mile 3.8 & 10.75 (7:30-11:30)
We need at least 4 volunteers

We can set this up with 2 hour & 15 minute shifts for those that can’t be there the entire 4 hours.

We need 2 (or more) there at 7:30 to help set up.
Will need 4 volunteers from 8:20 to 10:35, this is when the majority of the runners will be passing the water stop.

I will there from 7:30 to 11:30 (may shut down sooner depending on last runner
We need at least 1 more volunteer to be there at 7:30 to help set up

It’s not necessary to sign up on line but those that do will get a free entry to a future 3W Race of their choice and a Prairie Dog Half t-shirt. If you sign up to volunteer on-line be sure to select “Arvada Tri Club” from the meu when registering. On-line registration link below:

Sunday, February 21st, 2016 Group Run

Sunday, February 21st, 2016 8am Group Run meet at the parking lot west(off of Youngfield St just south of W 44th Ave) of West Lake for a nice run west on Clear Creek Trail, five miles will get us past Coors and just into Golden for a nice turn around point. Of course we can always add more and run further into Golden or cut it short and turn back at any point along the trail. If someone would like to volunteer for the aid station, Mcintyre St and Clear Creek Trail seem like a nice 1/2 way point, please comment if you would like to help us out this week. As always, All distances, paces, abilities, strollers, and dogs most welcome.

Ralston Creek 1/2marathon and 5k results

We had a great RACE this last Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Ralston Creek 1/2marathon and 5k! Seven Yes SEVEN top 10 finishers!!! And another PR even with a cold, windy and icy course. This race was the last in the Winter Running Series. Members participated in either all 5k’s or 5k, 10k, and finished with a 1/2marathon. We had four people take 1st place for the series nice work Cindy Sutton, Chris King, Wendy Goad, and Sara Morse;can’t wait to see what ya’ll can do in nice weather!  Great race and great job everyone.

Saturday & Sunday Group Run

Saturday, February 13th 8am Chris King will lead the Group Run. Meet at the Stanley Lake Library parking lot for a run on Big Dry Creek Trail.
 
Sunday, February 14th 8am Group Run at Green Mountain meet at Apex Center south west parking lot to carpool or meet at the Hiking parking lot off S Rooney Rd just north of the Dinosaur Ridge Museum. And get ready for some butt kicking hill climbs (don’t worry we can walk the ups if we have to). Please bring your own hydration, no aid station this run.

Kirsten Miller, owner and founder of Nourish2Flourish, Inc., will be here to discuss healthy nutrition for the triathlete. She will tell us how to use a whole foods diet to help fuel our training and races from sprint to Ironman distance. Her nutrition approach will help you to perform better and recover more quickly, minimize inflammation and GI distress. Kirsten is a Master Nutrition Therapist, Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and Certified Sports Nutrition Consultant. She is a multi-Ironman competitor and Boston Marathon finisher. Nutrition and triathlon are her passions and she loves to help other athletesN2F-logo-web succeed with nutrition.
